About the Artist
1995-1999 studied painting in Estonian Academy of Arts. Among works of this period were "endless rotating" kinetic objects "Commoon"(1996) and "F(x,y,z)"(1997). Paintings "Trinity", "Man and Woman" or "Terra Incognita" First solo exhibition "Room" was in 1998. Next year she made 4 part diploma mixing paintings with photos of her personal life. Also that year, she made a videofilm "Epoch!" with Karl Nagel and presented it in a cinemahouse. Exhibition "Realism" (2001) first paintings from series called "Questions to bourgeoisie". Followed exhibitions: "True Story",2002 "Surrend",2003 ("Questions to bourgeoisie III") and "Notes",2005. Year 2007 exhibition "Execution" was in gallery Vaal . "Subject to Subject", "Impossible to Exploit o La La Absurdista" and "Sex or death" were some titles of the paintings. Since then Tiiu Rebane has been working with conceptual photo, collages and building up a web-based environments for future projects with other galleries and artcommunities.
