About the Artist
Cassia Kite, American b. 1979 Kite was born and raised in Auburn, Nebraska and attended Northwest Missouri State University earning a B.F.A in painting and sculpture, along with a B.S in Art Education. In the summer of 2006, Kite moved to St. Petersburg, FL from Atlanta, GA to work with both the Museum of Fine Arts and Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. Kite taught K-5 art with the Pinellas County Schools from 2006 until 2011 and is currently teaching Middle School and High School Art at The Pendleton School IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida. Kite recently completed a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in School Improvement and Technology at the University of Florida and currently resides in Sarasota, FL where she continues to work in her home and downtown studios.
