About the Artist JENNIFER BOWMAN UTTERBACK Being from Kentucky, Jennifer recently moved back to her home state to be closer to family and to continue on with her art career amongst familiar surroundings. However, she lived in Nashville, TN from 1998 through 2010. Being a self-taught artist has given her the freedom to explore and experiment while absorbing inspiration from nature, the city streets, a rustic old warehouse, or even a quiet afternoon. While utilizing a variety of mediums she creates layers of rich earth tones consisting of mostly acrylic, coffee, glaze, and oil, with a foundation of molding paste for a textural effect.  The abstract style lends itself to your projections and symbols. In the sweeps, arcs, and shafts of layered color, you will see what you need to see - a figure, a forest fire, a desert canyon, perhaps the surface of a planet never seen before.
