About the Artist
My work concerns the problem of representation of what cannot be represented. The painting "How?” Sold to Farsetti Auction House of Prato (Italy) in 2005, contained this inscription, in which I stated explicitly the program and the direction of my work: "How to make people see what it's impossible to see?” Moreover, as Jean-François Lyotard, I’m fully aware that the issue at stake in modern art is to show that there is anything we can conceive but we cannot reproduce in a visible form. Unlike Lyotard, however, I’m convinced that the research on this road does not belong - a priori and exclusively - to the abstract (that is, the formless), but may be carried out successfully by operating on the side of the figuration. Provided that, in “this painting of the sublime”, the figures are dematerialized to lose their representational content.
