British by birth, I’m an Indian artist resident in Spain. Partly, my work looks at the elusive beauty of innocence; unawareness versus the complexities, choices of awakening. A childhood spent in mixed cultures has led to a profound fascination and interest in people. The human drama, as played out amongst persons united, as well as separated by prejudice and ignorance. Art may not always directly lead to change, but could provoke and prepare us for change. It can open our eyes to what we failed to see previously, what we refuse to see, what life inadvertently tells us. Art speaks of the sensitivity and gravity of imbalances. Through art, something considered normal could take on the form of abnormal, or something considered ugly could become beautiful, that considered trivial could take on importance and vice versa.
