About the Artist Kylie Holmes began her career in photography in Far North Queensland in 1994. During her time there she worked as a photographer at North Queensland’s largest regional newspaper, The Cairns Post. On numerous occasions Kylie was sent out on assignment to document events such as the disasters of tropical cyclones, rodeos, sport and news stories, also specializing in fashion and product photography. On returning to Melbourne Kylie completed a Diploma of Arts at RMIT where she received the student of the year accreditation, and was a Silver Award winner at the AIPP Student of the Year Awards. On completion of her studies Kylie has worked as a freelance photographer at a number of commercial studios, including Bakehouse Studios in Collingwood. In 2001 Kylie began lecturing in photography at RMIT and has since lectured at Photography Studies College, in Melbourne, Light & Life Academy in India, and is currently lecturing at Creative Arts Training College in Sydney.
