About the Artist
“Art is not what you see but what you make others see” Edgar Degas Kylie Verdouw uses the beauty of light, texture and colour in her photography to sensitively capture life and how she experiences it and wishes to portray its value. Inspiration surrounds her; from her main muses children to the beautiful light and the texture and movement of flowing fabric. While Kylie’s current focus is to create sensitive newborn portraits, this exhibition has challenged her to capture herself as a sort of newborn, having emerged with new perspectives and freedom after powerful experiences she encountered earlier in life. This deeper understanding of grace, as it extends outwardly and inwardly, covering all that is meaningful in life is what Kylie aspires to fill all her work.
