About the Artist
In the last 20 years I have created several series of works. Each series of paintings are inspired by different themes. What they all have in common is my love of rich, luminous colors and the love of life and movement, be it physical or emotional. In my most recent works I am inspired by moments I remember when I was a kid. Moments that let me transcend from a world were I felt anxiety and loneliness to a world were I saw beauty and hope. Like making a kite and seeing it fly, creating a paper airplane and watching soar, Making a wish on a dandelion. I am working with encaustic, metal photographs, oils paints, and charcoal with these new works. Working with the mixed media helps me to free my imagination and provides many opportunities for textural accident and grace to influence the finished works.
