About the Artist Jonatas Chimen Dias DaSilva-Benayon was born in Brasilia, Brazil. He is a Symbolist artist whose influences stem from Sequential Art, Baroque, and Modernism. His classical use of archetypes follow the lines of psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung, and mythologist Joseph Campbell. In addition to his artistic practice, Jonatas is a published author of articles on the Iberian Inquisition and the Sephardic Diaspora, a theme that underlies much of his artwork. Jonatas holds a Bachelors of Arts in Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is a 2016 Masters of Fine Arts candidate at Florida International University.
