About the Artist
As a painter, not a writer, it is difficult to me to write about something I have recently painted. My mind speaks mostly with pictures, not with words. I paint beacause this is my way to express myself. I leave words to other people. A painter must be an expert of themselves. I do not tell stories. I do not capture anything. What I paint emerges slowly from my subconscious and has nothing to do with a desire to picture anything. It is an inner pressure I cannot resist. My pictures do not have any meaning but are of course open for any interpretation. Everything the viewer 'reads' from my pictures derives from their imagination, their mind, their intellect, their knowledge, their interpretation skills, their education or lack of it. A picture's meaning depends entirely on the receiver's decoding process. The receiver attaches the meaning to the picture. A picture is meaningless and silent.
