About the Artist
Asa Rosti was born in Sweden, in 1977. She moved to London in 1998 where she studied Art and Design and received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Silversmithing, Jewellery Design and Allied Crafts from the London Metropolitan University in 2003. After that, she moved to Italy where she started painting full time. In the following years she has been traveling and living mostly in tropical countries like Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, New Caledonia, and the Dominican Republic. The contact with exotic cultures and the strong colors of the plants and birds of the South Pacific and Caribbean regions has strongly influenced her visual and conceptual vocabulary, in particular in regard to the rich color palette that she uses in her paintings. She takes her inspiration both from traveling in the real world and in her inner landscape of vivid imagination and her artwork often speaks about love in its many shapes and forms.
