Otar Chkhartishvili ‘in his own way’ depicted Brezhnev’s meeting with Erich Honecker in 1978, in his work ‘Birth of Neo-communist’, wherein Brezhnev became pregnant after his kiss with Honecker and gave birth to the ‘Sphere of Soviet Unconsciousness’. I do not work for my works could astonish anyone or to decorate the world museums either; ‘painting is rather a life and a mirror for me, wherein I see myself daily and I should not be ashamed at the end of each day (O. Chkhartishvili, 25/July/1975). Otar Chkhartishvili is considered to be the founder of the ‘Art of Objects’ in the Caucasus. The tensed way of Otar Chkhartishvili’s life had resulted in his death at the age of 67 in 2006. He had predicted his death by illustrating this in his requiem “White Pomegranates”, the pale ‘white pomegranates’ on canvas reminding a deceased covered with a winding-sheet.
